Donna Karan Resort 2011
Donna Karan, being the established designer that she is, knows how to morph into the various seasons. She succeeded in incorporating her vision of strong femininity into her idea of a a woman’s evening wardrobe. This effort was no different.
The Resort 2011 collection was satiate with rich blues, ivories, and silvers in lithe satin jersey and fluid platinum lamé. And Karan’s strong suits and deep necks attest to the idea of a strong femininity. Lisanne De Long, on the right, wears a powerful yet gossamer look in one of the collection’s most impressive blues; similarly, on the left, the idea of power continues with a strong-shouldered, elongating white suit in an eased fabric.
This défilé was certainly among the strongest for this season.
